Fund Activity
On October 7, 2023, the State of Israel awoke to the "Iron Swords" war, during which thousands of terrorists from the Gaza Strip broke through and infiltrated dozens of Israeli settlements, vandalizing, trampling, destroying, shattering, raping, and murdering thousands of people. In the first few hours, it became clear the scale of the disaster and the harsh and complex reality of the kidnapping of over 250 men, women, children, and infants, some alive and some deceased. Civilians and soldiers, who were brutally and violently abducted to the Gaza Strip, along with four additional Israeli citizens who have already been held there for many years.
As soon as the war broke out, the people of Israel rushed to establish various support and assistance frameworks for the thousands of affected families. Within these frameworks, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum was established by some of the same members that founded the "October 7th Hostages Fund." The forum created a supportive home for the families of the hostages, and has been working tirelessly since then to bring them home. After 49 days, a hostage release deal was executed, bringing about 100 of them home. More hostages were freed in heroic operations by the IDF, with some soldiers unfortunately returning as casualties. At the time of the fund's establishment, 10 months had already passed since the beginning of the war, and about 115 hostages were still being held by terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip.
The Fund's Objectives as Stated in the PBC/NPO Bylaws:
To promote and carry out actions for economic, medical, rehabilitative, resilience, and other assistance to the hostages (including released individuals, casualties, missing persons, etc.) from the events of October 7, 2023, or those held in the Gaza Strip prior to that date, as well as to their families.
This includes supporting projects that advance these objectives, carried out within other non-profit organizations.
We welcome involvement,
